Salesforce unveils Koa AI reasoning model with NVIDIA
At the Dreamforce conference, Salesforce announced Koa, its first domain-specific reasoning model designed for Customer Relationship Management (CRM) tasks. Developed in collaboration with NVIDIA, Koa is built on the NVIDIA Nemotron 3 Super base and utilizes synthetic training data derived from 27 years of Salesforce's industry experience. This approach aims to reduce error rates in complex business workflows—such as opportunity updates and case routing—to one-third of the error rates seen in mainstream models.
Salesforce also introduced the AIforce platform, a live interface layer intended to bridge Salesforce data and workflows with external AI tools, including partnerships with Anthropic’s Claude and Slack. To support highly regulated sectors, Salesforce and NVIDIA are expanding the Missionforce platform, which allows for secure, air-gapped deployments in private clouds for government and defense agencies. Additionally, Salesforce announced an expanded partnership with Google Cloud to integrate Salesforce infrastructure with Google’s Gemini Enterprise, aiming to eliminate data silos.
CEO Marc Benioff emphasized the shift toward specialized reasoning models over general-purpose AI, positioning the company's accumulated business knowledge as a core competitive advantage. The company also announced a partnership with OpenAI to integrate frontier models into its Missionforce capabilities for government use.
