Salesforce appoints Miguel Milano as chief operating officer

Salesforce announced that Miguel Milano will assume the newly created role of chief operating officer. Milano, a former head of revenue who previously led the company’s European business and spent time at Celonis, will oversee day‑to‑day operations and help streamline the firm’s global strategy. The move is intended to free CEO Marc Benioff to focus on long‑term vision, strategic partnerships and philanthropy while Milano drives operational efficiency and growth.

The leadership change coincides with the departure of long‑time chief engineering officer Srini Tallapragada after 14 years and the promotion of other executives, including Alexa Vignone to a broader sales role. It comes as Salesforce’s stock has fallen about 27% this year, even as revenue from its AI platform Agentforce topped $1 billion in May, highlighting a split between market skepticism and strong operational performance.
