Salesforce expands AI capabilities with Fin and Loops acquisitions
Salesforce has completed two strategic acquisitions to bolster its artificial intelligence capabilities. The company finalized the $3.6 billion acquisition of Fin, an Irish-founded business formerly known as Intercom, on September 10, 2026. Fin provides an AI agent designed to handle customer queries across multiple channels, including live chat, email, WhatsApp, SMS, voice, and Slack. Fin reportedly resolves an average of 76% of support volume without human intervention.
Additionally, Salesforce signed a definitive agreement to acquire Loops, an Israeli startup specializing in AI-powered agentic analytics, for approximately $30 million. The acquisition, expected to close in early November 2026, aims to integrate Loops’ technology into Tableau, Salesforce’s data visualization platform. Loops uses machine learning to track key performance indicators and provide automated insights and recommendations through enterprise data sources and collaboration tools.
