Salesforce expands AI capabilities with role-specific Agentforce agents

Salesforce has significantly expanded its AI capabilities with the launch of a suite of role-specific autonomous agents under the Agentforce brand. These agents are designed to handle complex, long-duration tasks across various business functions, including sales, customer service, commerce, HR, and supply chain management.

Key new agents include Hunter for outbound sales, Piper for inbound pipeline generation, Carter for commerce, Casey for customer service, and Paige for IT and HR services. The company also completed the acquisition of Fin (formerly Intercom) to bolster its customer service AI offerings. To support these autonomous workflows, Salesforce introduced the Trusted Enterprise AI Harness, an architecture providing shared capabilities for reasoning, governance, and security.

In a strategic partnership with Anthropic, Salesforce announced ‘Claudeforce,’ which integrates Claude AI directly with Salesforce data and workflows. This allows sales teams to access CRM data and execute actions within the Claude interface. Salesforce reports that its agentic systems have already delivered 7 billion Agentic Work Units (AWUs) across its platforms.
