Salesians of Sicily launch 2026-2027 pastoral year in Catania

The Salesians of Sicily have launched the 2026-2027 pastoral year at the Via Cifali Inspectorate Center in Catania. The event brought together consecrated members, laity, and youth leaders to mark the conclusion of a three-year cycle focused on theological virtues.

Following previous studies on hope and faith, the new year will center on educational charity under the theme ‘Signs of your love – Diligent in charity.’ Inspector Don Domenico Saraniti opened the proceedings, emphasizing the mission to support young people facing fragility and disorientation.

A lecture by Professor N. Filippone explored Saint John Bosco’s 1877 treatise, ‘The Preventive System in the Education of Youth.’ The discussion highlighted how the preventive system utilizes theological charity to move beyond utilitarian logic, fostering authentic empathy and a sense of being loved among the youth.
