Salford City defeats Oldham Athletic 4-1 in derby victory

Salford City secured a 4-1 derby victory against Oldham Athletic at Boundary Park, extending their unbeaten league run to five matches and moving up to seventh in the standings.

Salford took an early lead in the fifth minute through a Luke Molyneux cross, followed by a 30-yard lob from Kelly N’Mai in the 19th minute. Oldham Athletic responded quickly via Calum Kavanagh, who scored two minutes after the second Salford goal. The first half was marked by a brief period of confusion when referee Isaac Searle blew the whistle for half-time one minute earlier than the indicated stoppage time, requiring players to return to the pitch to complete the period.

In the second half, Salford reasserted dominance. Brendan Wiredu scored in the 57th minute to restore a two-goal lead, and substitute Adebola Oluwo sealed the win with a header in the 81st minute.
