Salgótarján announces logistics for August 20 long weekend

Salgótarján has announced several logistical adjustments for the upcoming August 20 long weekend. To accommodate festive events in the main square, the pavilion parking area will be closed from the evening of August 18 until the morning of August 21, 2026.

Traffic restrictions will also affect Rákóczi út in the city center during specific evening hours on August 20 and 21. During these closures, public bus services will utilize stops at the Postai aluljáró instead of the main square, with a temporary stop established on Füleki út.

Additionally, parking in municipal paid parking lots managed by VGÜ Nonprofit Kft. will be free of charge from August 20 to August 23, 2026. Local government offices will suspend client services from August 17 to August 19, though government window services (kormányablak) will maintain their regular operating hours.
