Salgueiro denies charging Gkay R$ 300,000 to remain as muse

Influencer Gkay has announced her departure from the Salgueiro samba school, ending her role as a muse. Her decision follows controversy regarding reports that the school requested R$ 300,000 for her to remain in the position for the 2027 Carnival.

Renata Frisson, known as Mulher Melão and the director of Salgueiro's muses, has denied these claims, calling them false. Frisson explained that the school's proposal was not a direct fee but an invitation for muses to secure brand partnerships to help fund the school's social projects. She emphasized that participation in the parade is not strictly conditioned on obtaining such sponsorships.

In a farewell statement, Gkay expressed gratitude to the school for the experience and stated she had given her best during her time there. Salgueiro issued a note clarifying that it is standard practice in Carnival for prominent personalities to contribute to school projects through personal resources or by facilitating corporate sponsorships to help finance large-scale festivities.
