Salifaggeta mountain race in Soriano nel Cimino draws hundreds of runners
The ninth edition of the Salifaggeta – La Salita dei Cimini mountain race took place on Saturday, 25 July in Soriano nel Cimino, Italy. Hundreds of athletes from across the country tackled the 8.5 km course that climbs 500 m from Piazza Vittorio Emanuele II to the UNESCO‑listed Faggeta Vetusta on Monte Cimino. Leonardo Cialini (Polisportiva Chianciano) won the overall race in 36:26, followed by Benjamin Benedic and Giuliano Noris.
Athletes from the At Running team also featured prominently, with Walter Maggi winning his 50‑km category, Giuseppe Cioccolini placing eighth overall and first in his class, Eugenio Tosti twelfth overall and first in his class, and Monica Santini sixth overall and second in her category. The event was organized by the Pro Loco of Soriano nel Cimino, the municipal authorities and the Runner Team Viterbo, and was praised as a successful showcase of sport, local nature, and community spirit, supported by volunteers, sponsors and local institutions.
