Salihli Organized Agricultural Zone begins field operations

Fieldwork has commenced for the Salihli Organized Agricultural Zone project in Manisa, aimed at boosting agriculture in the Aegean Region. Following the signing of a contract for planning and engineering services, heavy machinery has entered the site to conduct drilling and geological-geotechnical surveys required for zoning plans.

The project is designed to integrate geothermal energy resources with modern greenhouse technologies to enhance water and energy efficiency. The development will include modern greenhouse plots, agriculture-based industrial areas, administrative and technical service zones, and necessary infrastructure such as transportation links and automation systems.

Key objectives of the initiative include increasing high-value agricultural production, strengthening export capabilities, and fostering digitalization and automation in farming. The project is also expected to stimulate the regional economy by creating new employment opportunities and improving infrastructure for processing, packaging, and storing agricultural products.
