Salihli police detain two after viral video shows passenger on moving car roof

Two individuals have been detained in the Salihli district of Manisa following a viral video showing a woman climbing out of a car's sunroof and moving on top of the vehicle while it was in motion on the D300 highway.

Following the social media footage, the Salihli Chief Public Prosecutor's Office launched an investigation. The driver, identified as 20-year-old M. E. C., and the passenger, identified as Ö. K., were taken into custody on charges of “indecent behavior.”

In addition to the criminal investigation, M. E. C. was issued an administrative fine of 4,500 Turkish Lira for violating traffic laws and was subject to legal proceedings for “endangering traffic safety.”
