Salina Turda attracts international tourists with unique microclimate

Salina Turda is gaining international recognition as a major tourist attraction, particularly for its unique microclimate. Due to extreme summer temperatures in Romania, the salt mine has become a refuge for travelers, maintaining a constant temperature between 10 and 12 degrees Celsius throughout the year.

Foreign tourists account for over 70% of recent visitors. To support this growth, local authorities have announced a 25 million euro expansion project funded by European funds. The development plan includes opening Mine Iosif, creating a connecting tunnel to Mine Terezia, installing panoramic elevators, and modernizing the treatment base.
