Salinas de Carboneros restoration to finish in two weeks

Restoration works at the Salinas de Carboneros are expected to be completed within two weeks. The project, located within the Bahía de Cádiz Natural Park, aims to recover salt-making structures and enhance the area for ornithological tourism and nature photography.

The intervention includes the restoration of salt pans, the creation of lagoons and resting islands for bird nesting, the installation of birdwatching equipment, improved signage, and the rehabilitation of gates. Additionally, paths are being camouflaged to minimize environmental impact.

The project has an execution period of five months with a total investment of 550,000 euros. The funding is co-financed through the European NextGenerationEU funds.
