Salinas Valley towns celebrate U.S. Independence Day 2026

Communities across the Salinas Valley marked the United States' 250th anniversary with a series of Independence Day events. In Greenfield, Patriot Park hosted a fireworks display, veteran food vouchers and live music from local bands. Soledad held a family‑friendly parade and games at Little League Park but cancelled its fireworks due to budget constraints, redirecting funds to public‑safety projects. Gonzales organized a parade, a Rotary Fun Run and a barbecue featuring local bands and a barbecued‑ribs feast.

In nearby King City, the Salinas Valley Fairgrounds saw Friday night fireworks, a Saturday parade with floats and tractors, and the return of Valley Heritage Days, an agricultural‑heritage fair with classic cars, antique tractors, live music and folklórico performances. The King City Young Farmers also hosted a fourth‑of‑July BBQ fundraiser, raising money for youth programs.

All events emphasized community traditions, local music, food vendors and family activities while highlighting the region's agricultural heritage.
