Salko Hamzić chooses Bosnia and Herzegovina for international future

Salko Hamzić, a 19-year-old goalkeeper for WSG Tirol, has announced his intention to represent Bosnia and Herzegovina at the senior international level. Although born in Salzburg and having previously played for Austria's youth national teams, Hamzić stated that his decision is based on his roots and his desire to pursue the best opportunities for his future.

Hamzić clarified that his choice should not be viewed as a rejection of the Austrian Football Association. He expressed readiness to join the Bosnia and Herzegovina national team should he receive an official call-up.

Bosnia and Herzegovina head coach Sergej Barbarez recently observed Hamzić in action during a match between WSG Tirol and Austria Vienna, where the young goalkeeper played the full 90 minutes.
