Bigg Boss 20 premieres with diverse cast and six-language launch

The 20th season of the reality show Bigg Boss premiered on September 6, 2026, hosted by Salman Khan. This milestone season features the theme ‘Vardaan’ and introduces a gameplay twist called ‘Extra Jeevan Daan’, which provides contestants with a second chance or lifeline.

The season features a diverse lineup of 17 contestants, including six-time world champion boxer Mary Kom, Bhojpuri actress Aamrapali Dubey, and musician Rhiti Tiwari. Other participants include Mahhi Vij, Kanika Mann, Love Gill, and digital creators such as ScoutOP. During the premiere, Mary Kom received a video message from Priyanka Chopra, who warned housemates about the boxer’s knockout power.

In a historic move, Endemol Shine India launched Bigg Boss editions in six different languages simultaneously on the same night. This includes Hindi, Bangla, Kannada, Telugu, Tamil, and Malayalam. The launch marks two decades of the franchise, with various regional hosts including Sourav Ganguly, Kichcha Sudeep, Nagarjuna Akkineni, Vijay Sethupathi, and Mohanlal.
