Salman Khan legal suit: ‘Kala Hiran’ film not yet ready for release

The producer of the film ‘Kala Hiran: Battle for Legacy’ informed the Delhi High Court that the project is not currently in a releasable state, as it has yet to receive certification from the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC).

The legal proceedings follow a suit filed by actor Salman Khan, who expressed concerns that the film’s storyline and promotional materials draw upon incidents from his life, specifically the 1998 blackbuck poaching case. Khan’s legal team argued that even an OTT release should be subject to scrutiny.

Justice Jyoti Singh recorded the producer's statement regarding the lack of certification and included potential OTT releases within the scope of the court's order. The court has granted the respondents two weeks to file a reply, with the next hearing scheduled for September 30.
