Salman Khan Wins Delhi High Court Order to Remove 'Kala Hiran' Teaser
The Delhi High Court, through Justice Jyoti Singh, issued an interim injunction on July 27 directing the removal of the teaser for the film “Kala Hiran: The Battle for Legal” after actor Salman Khan filed a plea alleging infringement of his personality rights. The court ordered that all existing posts and the teaser be taken down within 24 hours and barred the makers from uploading, hosting, sharing, publicising or distributing the material on any platform.
The order also named major online intermediaries – X, Meta Platforms Inc. and Google LLC – instructing them to delete the URLs if the uploaders fail to comply. The court highlighted that the teaser exploits Khan’s name, mannerisms and distinctive traits for commercial gain without his consent.
Judges observed that the teaser references the pending blackbuck poaching case and depicts intimidation of witnesses and investigative agencies, actions that could irreparably and gravely damage the actor’s reputation and goodwill.
