Mumbai Police constable dies on duty at Salman Khan's residence

A 41-year-old Mumbai Police constable, identified as Ganesh Rayate, died on duty while stationed outside Bollywood actor Salman Khan's residence, Galaxy Apartments, in Bandra. According to senior police officials, Rayate complained of feeling unwell before collapsing. He was rushed to Bhabha Hospital, but doctors declared him dead on arrival. Preliminary findings suggest the cause of death was a heart attack, though a post-mortem examination will be conducted to confirm.

Rayate was part of the high-level Y+ security detail assigned to Khan due to ongoing threats from the Lawrence Bishnoi gang. The actor's security was recently intensified following a 2024 incident where gunmen opened fire outside his home. Bishnoi has reportedly issued threats against the actor in connection to a black buck poaching case from the 1990s.

Salman Khan has previously addressed the intensity of his security, noting that while the large presence can be inconvenient for his daily movements, he does not live in fear and has placed his safety in God's hands.
