Salman Shah film festival marks 30th death anniversary

The Bangladesh Film Development Corporation (BFDC) is hosting a three-day film festival titled ‘Salman Shah Shorone’ to commemorate the 30th death anniversary of the popular Dhallywood actor Salman Shah. The event, held at the BFDC VIP Projection Hall, features free public screenings of three films from his career: ‘Shopner Thikana’ (1995), ‘Keyamot Theke Keyamot’ (1993), and ‘Tomake Chai’ (1996).

Salman Shah, born Shahriar Chowdhury Emon, passed away on September 6, 1996, at the age of 25. His death at his Dhaka residence remains a subject of public discussion and legal scrutiny, with the case still before the court. During his four-year career, he starred in 27 films and was noted for his influence on fashion and style within the Bangladeshi film industry.
