SalMar reports record Q2 harvest volume and improved earnings
SalMar ASA reported a record-high harvest volume for the second quarter of 2026, totaling 81,800 tonnes. This growth was driven by strong biological performance in Norway, despite an unfavorable harvest profile and lower market prices during the period.
The company's operational EBIT for the quarter reached NOK 1,237 million, an increase from NOK 994 million in the same period last year. However, this result fell below Bloomberg's estimate of NOK 1.33 billion. Total operating income rose to NOK 7.6 billion, up from NOK 6.2 billion in the previous year.
In Norway specifically, the operational EBIT was NOK 1,227 million with a harvest volume of 71,500 tonnes. Due to the positive biological outlook, SalMar has raised its 2026 volume guidance by 20,000 tonnes, bringing the total expected volume to 350,000 tonnes.
