British Columbia art galleries host new exhibitions

The Art Gallery of Greater Victoria will host an exhibition titled ‘On the Road: Journeys through Japanese Woodblock Prints’ starting October 3. The collection features landscapes and scenes from the 17th century through the modern era, focusing on themes of travel, pilgrimage, and famous locations such as Mount Fuji and the Tōkaidō road. Dr. Heng Wu, the gallery's curator of Asian art, noted that the prints serve as records of memory and imagination.

In Salmon Arm, the Salmon Arm Art Gallery is presenting ‘Where In The World Are We?’, a collaborative exhibition running until November 14. Presented by the Salmon Arm Arts Centre and Grindrod’s Runaway Moon Theatre, the exhibit uses maps to explore community identity and personal connections to place. The project is part of a larger community arts initiative intended to culminate in a community play in May 2027.
