Salmon Center hosts Nord University students for aquaculture training
Fifty-four students and two staff members from Nord University recently visited the Salmon Center in Gildeskål as part of the Aquaculture Operation and Management program. The visit is an annual tradition intended to bridge the gap between academic education and the practical aquaculture industry.
During the visit, students participated in a sea trip to the Midt-Femris aquaculture site to observe modern farming practices firsthand. The program included lectures on the salmon life cycle, presentations from GIFAS, and information regarding educational opportunities at Meløy Upper Secondary School in Inndyr. Students also utilized virtual reality technology and sensory learning tools at the center to gain deeper insights into the industry.
