Salmonella outbreak linked to Reeva instant noodles across Europe

European food‑safety authorities (EFSA and the ECDC) have confirmed more than 100 cases of salmonellosis linked to flavored instant noodles sold under the Reeva brand. The outbreak, traced to a Ukrainian producer (Euro Food Service) supplying the noodles, has affected 14 countries, with at least 49 patients – mainly children and young adults – requiring hospitalisation.

The brand’s owner, Vietnamese company Uniben, says the contaminated batch has been withdrawn and an internal investigation launched, including independent laboratory testing and regulatory audits. Health agencies are urging consumers to ensure noodles are boiled thoroughly and to watch for symptoms such as diarrhoea, fever and vomiting. The investigation continues as authorities monitor for further cases and possible additional sources of contamination.
