Salmonella Recall of Aldi Nord and Lidl Spice Products in Germany

German authorities have announced a recall of two spice products sold at Aldi Nord and Lidl after tests detected salmonella bacteria. The affected items are "Le Gusto Basilikum gerebelt" (15 g) sold by Aldi Nord and "Kania Rosmarin geschnitten" (25 g) sold by Lidl.

Salmonella can cause diarrhoea, vomiting, fever and other gastrointestinal symptoms, posing particular risks to young children, the elderly and immunocompromised persons. Consumers are urged not to consume the products and may return them to any Aldi Nord or Lidl store for a full refund, even without a receipt.
