Salone del Mobile. Milano to debut Salone Contract sector in 2027

The 65th edition of Salone del Mobile. Milano, scheduled for April 13–18, 2027, at Rho Fiera Milano, will introduce the Salone Contract sector. Designed by the architecture firm OMA, led by Rem Koolhaas and David Gianotten, this new area aims to transform the fair from a mere exhibition into a strategic commercial marketplace.

The Salone Contract will feature a central plaza called ‘The Dome,’ surrounded by specialized sectors including nautical, office, hospitality, sanitary, and educational equipment. The initiative seeks to connect manufacturers of furniture, lighting, and technical equipment directly with architects, developers, and asset managers to facilitate verifiable commercial orders.

Other key components of the 2027 program include the second edition of the Euroluce International Lighting Forum and the expansion of Salone Raritas, which will feature prominent figures such as India Mahdavi. The fair's strategy focuses on strengthening the industrial base and connecting companies to new international markets and professional communities amidst shifting global demand.
