Salou honors Local Police during patron saint festival

The municipality of Salou held an institutional ceremony at the Salou Auditori Theatre to celebrate the patron saint festival of the Local Police. The event aimed to recognize the professionalism, dedication, and service vocation of the force's members.

Presided over by Mayor Pere Granados, the ceremony included awards, medals, and distinctions for various officers and collaborating entities. Granados emphasized the necessity of a “strong, prepared, respected and with authority” local police force to ensure security and civic coexistence in the tourist city. He also noted that defending public spaces is essential to defending citizens' rights.

The event featured demonstrations from the Canine Unit and displays of police vehicles. It also included a tribute to deceased members of the force. Local cultural groups, such as the Atabaladors and Gegants de Salou, participated in the festivities. Security Councilor Sebastià Domínguez noted that this would be his final patron saint festival in his current role.
