Salt Spring Island roadwork to cause traffic delays

Single-lane-alternating traffic will be implemented on Fulford-Ganges Road between Seaview Road and Cranberry Road on Salt Spring Island to facilitate drainage and safety improvements.

The traffic restrictions are scheduled for August 10 to August 12, 2026, and again from August 17 to August 18, 2026. Drivers should expect wait times of five to 10 minutes during the active construction hours of 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.

The project involves the resurfacing and grading of a 1.6 km stretch of the two-lane road. While crews may temporarily open two lanes during periods of significant congestion, motorists are advised to plan for delays and observe reduced speed limits of 30 km/h in active work zones.
