Salta and San Luis Governors Unveil Multi‑Billion Peso Stimulus Plans

Governor Gustavo Sáenz of Argentina’s Salta province announced a comprehensive economic stimulus package worth more than 1 billion pesos. The plan provides credit lines for commerce ($670 million) and tourism ($400 million), offers discounts and interest‑free installments for hotels and restaurants, restructures public‑employee debts with preferential rates, and earmarks significant public‑works investment to create jobs.

Governor Claudio Poggi of San Luis province sent to the provincial legislature the RIPEE law intended to attract private investment through tax benefits, subsidies, and financing for projects. He also announced a 20% salary increase for all public‑sector workers, to be paid in four installments, financed from salary‑reserve funds and budgetary allocations.
