Salta and Salto launch economic development initiatives

In Salta, Argentina, Governor Gustavo Sáenz and Tourism Minister Manuela Arancibia launched ‘Impulso Salta’, a comprehensive program designed to strengthen the provincial tourism sector through infrastructure improvements, marketing, and demand incentives. A key component is the ‘Pre-Salta’ initiative, which offers tourists a 50% reimbursement in the form of travel credit for services booked in advance. This credit is capped at $150,000 per person and is intended for use during stays between January 4 and March 5, 2027, covering expenses such as gastronomy, excursions, and wineries.

Simultaneously, in Salto, Uruguay, the local government is fostering technological innovation through the ‘Desafíos Productivos 2026’ program. During a recent evaluation session, five teams presented technological solutions aimed at optimizing the citriculture and apiculture sectors. Proposed innovations include the use of artificial intelligence, sensors, and digital platforms to improve harvest traceability, monitor cold chains, and manage nursery conditions.
