Transport policy shifts debated in Argentina and Colombia

In Colombia, the Congress is debating a significant legislative proposal to reform the national highway system. Introduced by Senator Luis Carlos Rúa, the bill seeks to establish a mandatory minimum distance of 150 kilometers between toll booths to reduce costs for drivers and improve coordination between private concessions and state entities. The reform also proposes reducing tariffs for private and heavy cargo vehicles and creating a national inventory of toll stations, with revenue managed by the National Institute of Roads (Invías).
