Fatal accidents and prison death trigger investigations in Argentina and Venezuela

Several fatal incidents have been reported across the region. In Salta, Argentina, authorities are investigating the death of José Eduardo Figueroa, a prisoner serving life for femicide, at the Villa Las Rosas prison. While initial reports suggest suicide, officials are examining whether security protocols were breached, as there are conflicting accounts regarding whether the body was found in a cell or an internal courtyard.

In separate traffic accidents in Argentina, a 15-year-old girl died following a collision between a car and a motorcycle in Clorinda. Additionally, Sergeant Joaquín Casasola of the Salta Police died after his motorcycle struck a parked trailer near Colonia Santa Rosa.

In Venezuela, a collision between two motorcycles in San Félix, Bolívar state, resulted in the deaths of a Cicpc officer, Denny Javier Vásquez Lezama, and a mototaxista, Maglio Alberto Aguanes González.
