Salta political parties reorganize ahead of upcoming elections
Political organizations in Salta are intensifying their preparations for upcoming electoral processes. The Partido de la Victoria (PV) has begun organizing its provincial project, with its national president, Sergio Leavy, indicating his possibility of running for Governor. The party recently held a meeting with approximately 100 leaders to discuss provincial issues such as health, education, and production. Jorgelina ‘Koky’ Juárez, president of the PV in Salta, noted that while there is currently no contact with former governor Juan Manuel Urtubey, the party is focused on territorial construction ahead of 2027.
Simultaneously, internal restructuring is occurring within PRO Salta. Party president María Eugenia ‘Cocó’ Varela has issued a directive regarding party loyalty, stating that members currently serving in the provincial administration under Gustavo Sáenz must choose between their roles in the government and their political militancy within the PRO. Varela criticized leaders who left the party, suggesting they were never truly aligned with its values, and emphasized that party statutes require members to choose sides if they participate in electoral lists without a formal alliance.
