Saltillo authorities arrest 215 people in public alcohol consumption crackdown
Authorities in Saltillo have reported a total of 215 arrests resulting from ongoing operations targeting the consumption of alcoholic beverages in public spaces. Commissioner Miguel Ángel Garza Félix stated that during the most recent weekend, 48 individuals were detained for drinking in public.
Garza Félix noted that while there has been a visible increase in public awareness, with more people choosing to socialize within private residences or garages, the municipal police will continue these operations permanently. The crackdown follows requests from local residents to maintain community safety and order.
Violators face a fine of 4,600 pesos. The police patrols have focused on the city's center, eastern, and western sectors, covering numerous neighborhoods including Misión Cerritos, Mirasierra, and San José.
