Saltillo authorities lack exact data on trees felled by Grupo Ruba

In Saltillo, Coahuila, municipal authorities have failed to provide a precise figure regarding the number of trees felled or transplanted during the development of the Montevalle residential complex by Grupo Ruba.

While an engineer from Grupo Ruba claimed approximately 340 trees, including walnut and fruit trees, were transplanted to Foret Norte and Foret Sur, municipal environmental officials have been unable to reconcile these figures with their own records. The Subdirector of Natural Resources, Francisco Torres Aguirre, stated that the department is currently reviewing files to determine the exact number of trees replaced or transplanted as part of environmental compensation requirements.
