Saltillo authorities seize 1,300 motorcycles this year

Authorities in Saltillo have seized 1,300 motorcycles so far this year as part of a continuous strategy to improve road safety and prevent accidents. The Commissioner of Security and Citizen Protection, Miguel Ángel Garza Félix, stated that the seizures are due to violations of traffic regulations, including riding without helmets, lacking license plates, or failing to provide necessary documentation to guarantee the payment of fines.

Security forces are implementing permanent operations through neighborhood filters and nighttime checkpoints on major thoroughfares. These measures target motorcyclists who run red lights, perform stunts, or disturb public order. Garza Félix noted that 13 motorcyclists were detained this week for disturbing the peace.

Comparing current figures to previous years, the Commissioner mentioned that 1,388 motorcycles were seized last year and expressed confidence that this year's total will exceed that number.
