Saltillo launches coordinated security operation for upcoming election

The Saltillo city Security and Citizen Protection Commissariat, together with the State Attorney General's Office, Coahuila Public Security Secretariat, the National Guard and the Mexican Navy, began a coordinated security operation across the city’s main avenues and neighborhoods. Commissioner Miguel Ángel Garza Félix and regional prosecutor Julio César Loera Ruiz said the deployment will run permanently from Friday 5 June through Sunday night 7 June to safeguard the forthcoming election.

Garza Félix stressed the force will monitor compliance with the state‑imposed dry law and prevent public‑security incidents throughout the central, south, north, east and west zones. The operation started on Paseo de la Reforma and patrolled streets such as Fundadores, Luis Echeverría Álvarez and Emilio Arizpe de la Maza, later covering all city sectors.

Citizens can report concerns via 9‑1‑1, the State Emergency System, the Saltillo municipal police line (844‑414‑11‑14), a dedicated chatbot (844‑893‑09‑09) or WhatsApp security groups. The agency reaffirmed its commitment to work with all three levels of government to ensure a tranquil and safe electoral day for Saltillenses.
