Saltillo launches second gang prevention tournament

The Saltillo Police Commissioner's Office is launching the second edition of the ‘Calle por Cancha’ tournament this Thursday. The program is designed to reduce tensions between gangs and foster coexistence and trust between gang members and the police.

Alexis Morales Hernández, Director of Social Proximity and Crime Prevention, announced that 40 gangs from the west, east, and south of Saltillo are registered to participate. The tournament begins in the Gustavo Espinoza Mireles neighborhood. The initiative is part of a broader security program led by Mayor Javier Díaz González and Commissioner Miguel Ángel Garza Félix.

In addition to municipal police and the Southeast Reaction Group, representatives from the Army and the National Guard have been invited to the event. The program aims to create safer environments by allowing youth to compete in a friendly manner.
