Saltillo Mayor highlights regional security and investment in McAllen

Saltillo Mayor Javier Díaz González presented a diplomatic briefing in McAllen, Texas, as part of the National Hispanic Heritage Month celebrations. During the event, Díaz highlighted the coordination between the municipal government and Coahuila Governor Manolo Jiménez Salinas as the primary driver for the region's success in security, competitiveness, and quality of life.

Díaz noted that Saltillo is recognized by INEGI as the safest capital in the country, citing an investment of over 2.1 billion pesos in security over the last two years. Key security initiatives mentioned include a massive citizen network of 139,000 people across 643 WhatsApp groups and the use of a digital ChatBot for reporting incidents.

Regarding economic development, the Mayor stated that Saltillo ranks among the top four most competitive cities in Mexico. He highlighted the city's high rate of formal employment, the creation of over 16,000 new jobs, and the arrival of more than 30 investment projects totaling over 760 million pesos. Additionally, he mentioned the INNOVA 5.0 platform designed to leverage nearshoring advantages.
