Saltillo municipality announces July tax incentives for property and other taxes
Lissette Álvarez Cuellar, the treasurer of Saltillo's municipal government, reminded residents that a series of tax incentives are in force throughout July. The measures reduce the property tax (predial) by one peso per year and also lower fees for the Property Acquisition Tax, taxes on establishments that sell alcoholic beverages, garbage collection, entertainment, commercial activities, market operations and transit services. Administrative sanctions related to licences for advertising and the occupation of public spaces are also eased.
The incentives were approved by the Saltillo City Council after a proposal from the Finance, Heritage, Public Accounts and Medical Expenses Commission. Álvarez Cuellar urged taxpayers with outstanding obligations to regularise their accounts and take advantage of the benefits. She noted that compliant taxpayers provide the municipality, led by Mayor Javier Díaz González, with resources to fund public works, services and other community programs.
