Saltillo officials report on child rights and disability inclusion

Saltillo Mayor Javier Díaz González and Luly López Naranjo, honorary president of the Municipal DIF, led sessions to report on social welfare initiatives for children and persons with disabilities.

During the session of the Municipal Council for the Guarantee of the Human Rights of Children and Adolescents, officials presented a report on actions taken during the first half of 2026 to promote child welfare and development. The session included participation from the 2026 Children's Council, including the Children's Mayor, Gael Emiliano Agundis Rodríguez.

In a separate session for the Citizen Council for the Inclusion of Persons with Disabilities, officials reported on activities conducted from June to August. Key achievements highlighted include the delivery of orthopedic devices, seven cochlear implants, awareness workshops, and the development of job fairs for people with disabilities. Mayor Díaz noted that Saltillo recently received the Award for Best Local Government Practices from the Association of Mexican Mayors for the ‘Ponte las Pilas’ program.
