Saltillo reports 46% decrease in robberies
Saltillo, the capital of Coahuila, has recorded a 46.07% reduction in total robberies between January 1 and October 18, 2026, compared to the same period in 2025. According to data from the Coahuila State Attorney General's Office, the decline includes high-impact crimes, residential burglaries, robberies against persons, businesses, and vehicle thefts.
Mayor Javier Díaz González attributed these results to coordinated efforts between municipal, state, and federal authorities, including the Army, Navy, and National Guard. To support these security measures, the municipal government has allocated a budget exceeding 1.1 billion pesos for 2026. This investment is directed toward police training, technology, and equipment, including the acquisition of patrol vehicles, motorcycles, and mobile offices, as well as the expansion of the Command and Control Center (C2) and the video surveillance network.
