Saltillo survivor discharged after fatal family shooting

Litzy, a 26-year-old survivor of a multi-homicide attack in Saltillo, is being discharged from the IMSS Clinic 2 after several weeks of hospitalization. Despite facing critical conditions following a gunshot wound to the skull, she has stabilized and is returning home to her family.

The attack occurred on August 4 in the Antonio Cárdenas neighborhood following a family dispute. The perpetrator, identified as Litzy’s ex-partner, Chad N, an American citizen, killed three people: Ana Laura de León Morín (Litzy’s mother), Laura Jaqueline Mora (Litzy’s sister), and Emmanuel Montero Gómez.

Chad N was apprehended in Piedras Negras while attempting to cross into Texas. While Litzy is being discharged, officials note she will require long-term rehabilitation and specialized treatment due to permanent neurological consequences resulting from her injuries.
