Salto celebrates 270 years at Expo Prado and launches new entrepreneurship initiative

The Departmental Government of Salto is participating in Expo Prado 2026 to celebrate the region's 270th anniversary. The exhibition, running from September 11 to 20 in Montevideo, features a dedicated stand designed to showcase Salto's identity, including its tourism, thermal baths, gastronomy, and productive sectors. The program includes musical performances, tastings of local products such as lamb empanadas and citrus desserts, and institutional presentations.

In a separate initiative to bolster local economic growth, the government is revitalizing 'Salto Emprende.' This program integrates the Area of Innovation and Development with the General Directorate of Social Development to provide comprehensive support to entrepreneurs. The new model focuses on early-stage guidance, using social workers to assess the specific needs and capacities of individuals with business ideas. This approach aims to connect participants with technical assistance, financing, or training, with a particular emphasis on developing soft skills like communication, organization, and decision-making.
