Salto Government presents six buses to renew urban transport fleet

The Government of Salto has presented six buses, completing the acquisition of 12 vehicles purchased from CUTCSA through a bidding process. This initiative is part of a broader effort to renew the urban passenger transport fleet to improve service conditions for users.

Walter Texeira Núñez, the Secretary General of the Government of Salto, noted that while the vehicles are not brand new, they are in very good condition and represent a significant improvement over the previous municipal fleet. The new units are of the same type as those already in use by the Intendencia, which will unify maintenance criteria and facilitate the availability of spare parts.

Francisco Blardoni, head of the Bus Unit, explained that the vehicles underwent inspections by municipal workshop personnel and received general painting before delivery. This renewal addresses the challenges posed by the previous fleet, which included units from 1987 and 1989 that had traveled over one million kilometers and required frequent, difficult maintenance.
