Salto Grande CTM announces infrastructure investment and educational initiatives
The Argentine Delegation of the Salto Grande Joint Technical Commission (CTM) is investing approximately $62 million to purchase 130 new seats for the Auditorium Municipal de Federación. This addition follows a previous contribution of 160 seats by the CTM, aiming to complete the projected capacity for the venue. The initiative is part of the CTM's Social Responsibility Plans to support the completion of the ‘Auditorium Ciudad de Federación’ project.
In Uruguay, the CTM has reintroduced its ‘Escuelas’ program in the Río Negro department after a five-year hiatus. The program engaged five urban and rural educational institutions in researching the history and development of the Salto Grande dam, covering the period from the 1946 founding agreement to the hydroelectric plant's 1983 launch. Nicolás Urrutia, Vice President of the Uruguayan Delegation, noted the positive response and expressed intentions to double school participation in future editions.
