Salto Grande Foundation supports 54 entrepreneurs in Uruguay

The Fundación Desarrollo Regional Salto Grande (FDRSG) has awarded economic support to 54 entrepreneurs across the Uruguayan departments of Salto, Artigas, Paysandú, and Río Negro. Through its ‘Fundación te impulsa’ program, which is backed by the Salto Grande Uruguayan Delegation, the initiative selected 54 beneficiaries from a pool of 101 applicants.

According to Foundation President Eduardo Bandeira, the selected entrepreneurs have an average age of 40, with women representing 68% of the group. Additionally, 69% of the supported businesses are formalized, a factor that may allow them to access subsidies of up to 30% if they maintain good payment records.

The regional ecosystem in Salto is increasingly characterized by inter-institutional collaboration, providing mentorship and resources to help new businesses transition from creative ideas to sustainable companies. Local authorities and regional organizations are focusing on providing training and accessible financing to retain young talent within the region.
