Salto Grande hydroelectric funds see significant increase in Entre Ríos

Senator Rubén Dal Molín reported a substantial recovery in economic resources from the Salto Grande hydroelectric dam, benefiting municipalities in the Entre Ríos region, specifically Federación and Santa Ana.

Dal Molín explained that the province receives two distinct types of income: hydroelectric royalties and operating surpluses. The royalties, which are calculated as 12% of the dam's energy sales with Entre Ríos receiving 70.2%, have seen a significant real-term increase. Comparing 2023 figures to 2025, the senator noted that while the 2023 royalties would equal approximately $2,300 million when adjusted for inflation, the actual amount received in 2025 reached around $4,500 million.

This increase is attributed to the recomposition of electricity generation tariffs following negotiations between Governor Rogelio Frigerio, the Salto Grande Mixed Technical Commission, and the national government. These funds are distributed directly to the treasuries of beneficiary municipalities to be used for infrastructure projects.
