Salto presents mental health initiative at binational seminar

A delegation from the Government of Salto participated in the First Binational Seminar on Suicide Prevention held in Concordia. The event brought together representatives from both sides of the Uruguay River to discuss suicide prevention strategies and mental health support.

During the seminar, the Salto delegation presented the ‘Espacio de Escucha’ (Listening Space), a tool designed to provide an initial point of contact and guidance for mental health issues. The initiative aims to facilitate continued care through public or private health systems. Originally developed to support municipal employees, the service has since been expanded to the general public and has been operational for approximately two months.
