Salto promotes regional tourism and secures university infrastructure funding

The department of Salto is increasing its regional presence through tourism promotion and educational infrastructure development. For the second consecutive year, the Salto Government has inaugurated its own stand at Expo Prado. Mayor Carlos Albisu described the space as a “small embassy of Salto,” aimed at showcasing the department's tourism, culture, and productive offerings to national and international visitors.

In a separate development for the region, Deputy Pablo Constenla announced that the Executive Branch has allocated resources for the construction of a new building for the Universidad de la República (Udelar) at the CENUR Litoral Norte – Salto campus. Constenla noted that the funding follows legislative efforts to address the department's infrastructure needs, stating the investment is a commitment to providing more educational opportunities for local youth.
